Films

I love watching movies. I like going to the cinema and also watching DVDs at home. Interesting places I have been to the cinema include Singapore (The Bourne Ultimatum), Kuala Lumpur (Ratatouille and The Simpsons Movie) and New Plymouth (Finding Nemo). I also really like watching films on aeroplane.

The last film I saw at the cinema was the last Harry Potter film (I love them all). Before that it was The King's Speech which I thought was great. Recent films I have seen on DVD are Goodbye Bafana (about Nelson Mandela - excellent), SALT (Angelina Jolie at her best!), The Motorcycle Diaries - about Che Guevara's motorcylce trip around South America in the 1950s - recommended!, The Counterfeiters - a German film based on a true World War 2 story and Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter ... and Spring - an amazing Korean film - definitely recommended.

I really like watching foreign language films. My favourite one is The Lives of Others which is German and about the East German secret police. I've also got Downfall about the last days of Hitler, Sophie Scholl - a true story about a brave woman who stood up for what she believed in and The Wave - which is an American remake of a German book in which a teacher shows how easy it is to create a dictatorship. I love the three Millennium films which are based on Steig Larsson's books.
